The small cháteau was an old winemakers house and is surrounded by vineyards and rustic villages. I got to explore the local area and paint a mural on the front of the chateau.
This series of works based landscapes that surrounded the cháteau and my research into the impressionists and fauvist artists that were inspired by the area.

'Back of Beyond' focuses on human isolation within a landscape. Houses and structures that have been built completely surrounded by nature and why humans crave isolation in these locations. The pieces reflect the feeling of being alone in nature, connected to the elements, and watching the seasons change around you.
